I’ve always had a really hard time believing in God. I tried, but it just wasn’t for me. I could never find the logic in endorsing a belief in something I couldn’t see, feel, hear, taste or smell - you know, those five senses that tell you what’s real in this world. The idea of God seems all to familiar to characters like Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. I mean, these two mythical beings we invented to celebrate God and his “son” Jesus, so is it such a curious thought to think that maybe God is just another invented being?
On the opposite side of the specturm that is religion vs. science, I choose science. I’m a man of science: I always have been and always will be.
I accept evolution as fact.
I’ve got not quarrels accepting the fact that I am nothing more than a highly evolved animal. It actually make lifes much more livable and fun. Maybe it is because I’m a man, but thinking of myself as an animal always puts a smile on my face.
Speaking of smiles, I almost forgot why I began writing this post. Here are some telling pictures of a chimp, Anjana. Telling in their nature of showing the similarities between chimps and humans, these pictures really struck a chord with me. The similarities between these pictures and ones you would find in a mother’s photo album with her child are irrefutable – some people just choose not to see it.
In wake of the memorial service that is taking place in Los Angeles today, I feel I must say something about Michael Jackson.
My first musical memories, besides the songs my mother sang to me as a child, are of Michael Jackson; specifically of the music video for “Bad.” I remember watching the video and being completely enamored. After watching the said video, I quickly proceeded to find a bandanna in my home to wear – it become my favorite piece of flair. I then replayed the video over and over dancing all over the place, shaking like a madman, grabbing my nuts and jumping all over my couches. I was probably 4 or 5. Then there was Moonwalker; a musical and videographic culmination of the contents of the album “Bad” intertwined with some randomness and short stories. I love this movie and watched it a myriad times. Still reeling from my love with the music video for “Bad,” when I saw “Badder” my infatuation grew even more. From this point on, I was hooked on Michael Jackson’s music, and pop in general. The rest is history.
Michael Jackson as a person was crazy and has been dead to me for quite some time, not just a couple of days.
Michael Jackson as the King of Pop is a God who will live on forever in the hearts of many.
I’ve been waiting to check this video out for a while.
If you like skateboarding and you’re from San Diego, you definitely need to check this video out. It is full of skate spots all over San Diego and all the riders are from SD.
All the parts are super good! Check the link below.
Check out this brazen move by some crazy man in the French Open 2009: Federer vs Soderling match.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Federer was attacked, although it could have easily turned into that. It is a relief no one was hurt. After that tackle though, who knows what condition the perpatrator is in. And how about that leap over the net! As I watched the video for the first time, I was really hoping he was going to get tripped up on it and maybe faceplant. Oh what a glorious sight that could have been.
While this is quite a funny scene, I am certainly not encouraging this type of behavior. But – Federer still won, no one was hurt, and everybody got (and will get) a good laugh.
Let’s keep this little Star Wars theme going with a recent acquisition of mine. I am a huge Star Wars fan and have been falling asleep to the original sage every night for the last week or so. I did some digging to find some Star Wars tunes and found this little gem. DJ Slink throws in some bass to accompy the ever famous cantina band song along with some excellent Jedi dialouge and the product of this is an excellent Star Wars song that isn’t too geeky.
All music posted on this blog is for sampling purposes only. I highly encourage, that if you enjoy a song, supporting the artist by purchasing their music. If you are an artist and you would like me to remove a link, feel free to email me.
